Hope For Hearts Assembly and Setup

The [R]ed[U]x Lab Hope for Hearts team was not only quick to get the project fabricated as anticipated but also able to get it up and operational at the Granite Club. The team made up of many first year Architectural Science students and guided by a couple of second years had a great experience learning not only about fabrication but also project management and delivery.

Night Market Cart 2016 Putting It All Together

The [R]ed[U]x Lab team is quickly bringing all the components that they have developed and prototyped into the final cart. The reuse of the hardware and furniture from the 4th year studio renovation is one of the key features of this design. Though there is a bit of mental and physical effort in appropriating those components, the resourcefulness and creativity of the team shows in the refinement of the design details. Our students not only know how to bring an idea to reality - they're not afraid to get their hands dirty in the shop to make it happen.

Hope for Hearts Finishing Touches

The team has been finalizing the assembly of the backdrop wall including integration of the sponsors and coordination of the lighting array. What is most impressive about this project is just how quickly this was developed and assembled especially when you consider the majority of the team consisted of first year architectural science students coming in with no familiarity with laser cutters.

Night Market Cart 2016 Fabrication Commences

The [R]ed[U]x Lab team behind the 2016 Night Market Cart has been extremely productive in transitioning from creating scale prototypes on the laser cutter to the execution of full scale components on the CNC router. This also allowed the team to investigate a full scale mock-up of the heat shrink membrane with the re-purposed stools from the studio renovation in the Department of Architectural Science.
