Having concluded the design phase, the students proceeded to fabricate the components of the interactive shell by cutting them using the CNC machine. With the pieces routed and sanded, the students embarked on the assembly of the shell's structure.

Traverse - Schematics
Upon receiving the task of creating an installation for the window display at the Eaton Centre on Yonge Street, two teams of students embraced the opportunity to design something captivating. They worked together to produce design concepts, which was subsequently presented for the Downtown Yonge BIA.
This team presented the idea of an installation that consists etched panels with imagery of architecture, landmarks, events, cultural icons, maps, and activities that are synonymous with Toronto.

On Stools and Heat Shrink Membrane
The 2016 Night Market Cart design by [R]ed[U]x Lab consists of the re-appropriation of some of the old studio furniture that would have been otherwise thrown out during the renovation of the Architectural Science studios. The team decided to use the old drafting stools as an endoskeleton that gave rise to the geometry of the cart. The team had to use heat shrink film to serve as a unifying membrane over top the structure that also proved to benefit the design's illumination capacity.

Working Away on Hope for Hearts
Another project currently underway is a backdrop for the Hope for Hearts Gala for SickKids which will be at the Granite Club this June. This resourceful and enthusiastic team developed an illuminated reception wall and currently is under development with a group of first and second year students in [R]ed[U]x Lab.
