Bata Shoe Museum Proposals

The team behind the Bata Shoe Museum 150th Canadian Anniversary window visited the site and came up with several design options before commencing production on the current scheme.
Visiting the site with the new team of [R]ed[U]x Lab members meant not only documenting the site but also taking a look at the finer details of the past installation that would better inform the infrastructure resources for the new design.

As evidenced by the options produced the team delivered on a range of options including representations of urban centres to the nation's geological morphology. Here are several initial proposals at the outset of the project.

Flummox Nearing Completion

The smallest [R]ed[U]x Lab team is finishing off the wiring components for the Flummox installation at The Pandemonium store at the 2016 Junction Toronto Design Offsite festival. It is going to be a late night but the kids always manage to pull through.
It is always great to see old veteran [R]ed[u]x lab members from fabricator to design leads on past projects.

The team decided to go with rewiring string lights to get the appropriate lengths to the nodes in the design. Rather than use soldering irons, the group went with the peel/heat shrink membrane to bridge the gaps between the intended pieces with relative ease.

The Professional Imagery of the Sanitization Wall

Though the Engineering Day at Ryerson University has passed, it is worth showcasing the sanitization wall that was done as a collaborative between the [R]ed[U]x Lab team and a group of biomedical engineers.  It was a great initiative working together and ideally it paves the way for opportunities to collaborate with other departments in the future.
