Flummox Making A Presence

Here are some images of Flummox at Pandemonium in the 2016 Toronto Design Offsite festival at the Junction. The team really pulled it together and once again, a vertically integrated group of students from the Department of Architectural Science executed an engaging design piece.

Flummox Team In Progress

Tirelessly working on the Flummox installation, the [R]ed[U]x Lab team was able to secure some space to get the project manufactured and assembled in time for the big install. As you can see in the photos, the number of hours crimping, wiring, and heating components began to mount up but it surely will be worth it in the end.

Terrena: Planting is a tricky endeavor

From casting to simply testing appropriate media and seeds, the Terrena team has been patiently experimenting with the plants to create the most appropriate or dangerous design.

Terrena Experiments Underway

Trying to identify the best planting medium and species of grass to use, here are some interesting images that describe the exploration the team is putting into their project.

Flummox Nearing Completion

The smallest [R]ed[U]x Lab team is finishing off the wiring components for the Flummox installation at The Pandemonium store at the 2016 Junction Toronto Design Offsite festival. It is going to be a late night but the kids always manage to pull through.
It is always great to see old veteran [R]ed[u]x lab members from fabricator to design leads on past projects.

The team decided to go with rewiring string lights to get the appropriate lengths to the nodes in the design. Rather than use soldering irons, the group went with the peel/heat shrink membrane to bridge the gaps between the intended pieces with relative ease.
