Fractured Light

We have been experimenting with a simple structure that supports and dictates a delicate skin to cradle the light. Undulations and fractures within the skin allows light to seep through the cracks creating texture and depth.

An array of materials were explored to generate the skin but we found that various fibrous materials have given preferred results of soft, diffused light to contrast with the fierce light peering through the fractures.

The skin has developed through a series of 2D outlines and scores that come alive with a few folds to transform into sharp 3D forms to create this dynamic skin.
