[R]ed[U]x Lab is a collective of digital fabricators and designers from Ryerson University’s Department of Architectural Science. Headed by Professor Vincent Hui, this group investigates the use of digital fabrication and interactive technologies in designing projects ranging from household products to entire urban installation pieces. [R]ed[U]x Lab’s works have been exhibited and published around the world including Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Spain.

The portfolio of work from [R]ed[U]x Lab is a critical response to the current culture of mass production in design. From parametric computer modeling tools and laser cutters to microprocessors and ultrasonic sensors, the palette of technologies used in its works have highlighted mass production as craft in the creation of engaging, interactive design work.

For more information about [R]ed[U]x Lab, please contact us or Professor Vincent Hui directly.
